Safety and Compliance: Touch 2020
Read the installation instructions in the StarLeaf Touch Quick Start Guide that accompanies the StarLeaf Touch, and the information on this page, before you connect the StarLeaf Touch to its power source.
Do not block any of the ventilation openings of the Touch.
Avoid installing the Touch near a heat source such as a radiator and avoid placing it in direct sunlight.
Do not remover the cover of the Touch. There are no user-serviceable parts. If you open the Touch or remove its cover you may expose yourself to dangerous voltages or other hazards, and you will invalidate the warranty.
If you are using the AC/DC adaptor to power the Touch, the plug that connects AC power to the adaptor is the main disconnect device for the Touch and must always be easily accessible.
The Touch must be connected to a Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) IEEE 802.3af compliant power source or to the AC/DC adaptor (StarLeaf part number 712-00010).
If the Touch is powered by the AC/DC adaptor, the Touch relies on the building’s installation for short-circuit (over current protection).
Ensure that the protective device is not rated greater than: 120 VAC, 15 A U.S, (240 VAC, 10 A international).
Caution: Over-current devices must meet applicable national and local electrical safety codes and be approved for the intended application.
The table below shows the power ratings of the Touch when it is powered by the AC/DC adaptor:

This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:
- Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
- Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
- Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
- Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.
