Calling from a StarLeaf endpoint to the public telephone network (PSTN)

Integration with a PSTN SIP trunk, known as StarLeaf VoiceConnect, provides calling to and from the global telephone network for your organization. VoiceConnect is an optional extra for your StarLeaf organization.
When VoiceConnect is set up, a SIP trunk is registered from your organization’s StarLeaf call controller, to the gateway of the PSTN SIP trunk provider.
Calls made from StarLeaf endpoints to telephone numbers are routed from the call controller to the SIP provider through the border controller, using SIP signaling over the Internet. The provider completes the call to the telephone number and media is routed as shown in the diagram below.
Calls between StarLeaf endpoints and publicly-accessible SIP video systems work in the same way.
