The connection between StarLeaf endpoints and the StarLeaf platform relies on standard NAT functionality to allow packets to travel in both directions. If the NAT connection timeout on your firewall is unusually short (less than 15 seconds), keepalive messages from StarLeaf might not be able to reach your StarLeaf endpoint, resulting in a loss of registration, causing the endpoint to display an error message like Connection to StarLeaf Cloud failed. We recommend that the NAT timeout on your firewall should be at least 30 seconds for reliable connections to Internet hosts.
