Cloud 7.4 is currently in pre-release and these release notes have draft status.
These release notes provide you with information about the latest upgrade to the StarLeaf Cloud, Portal, and endpoints. This is a feature release and is effective from August 2018.
All upgrades take place outside of normal office hours for all regions. Endpoints automatically restart and reconnect to the Cloud after the upgrade.
StarLeaf operates a system of rolling upgrades across our data centers, which are distributed globally. New features may be enabled separately.
Cloud 7.4 provides the following new features:
A new setting called meeting privacy is now available under Advanced settings when scheduling a meeting in the Portal. Meeting privacy can be set to private or non-private.
If a meeting is non-private, both the name of the meeting and the meeting organizer are visible in public spaces such as on the Join button of a room system touchscreen controller. If the meeting is private, only the name of the meeting organizer appears beside the word ‘Meeting’. By default, privacy is set to non-private unless changed
|Support multiple sites||
A new feature called support multiple sites in the StarLeaf Portal allows admins to configure multiple sites based on location. This is useful, for example, where deploying VoiceConnect. For more information, go to About sites
|Join button for Zoom meetings||
You can now invite a StarLeaf room system to a Zoom meeting and the green Join button will light on your StarLeaf room system. The setting which allows the addition of H.323 endpoints to the Portal must be enabled on your organization for this to work
|StarLeaf notifications change in behavior||
If you are signed in to StarLeaf on multiple devices, but only active on one of them, you only see notifications on the device where you are currently active. For example, if you are messaging in StarLeaf on your laptop, notifications on your phone for other conversations are delayed for 20 seconds which gives you the opportunity to switch conversations and read messages without having your phone receive notifications. When the Cloud detects that you are inactive on all devices, notifications are delivered again as usual
The Users page and the Room systems pages in the Portal now contain a Search bar and are paginated which speeds up loading time for customers with a large number of users and/or meeting rooms
|StarLeaf Outlook Add-in for Exchange Server change in behavior||
When you schedule a meeting using the StarLeaf Outlook add-in for Exchange Server, the meeting layout now copies the default layout that is configured for your organization. For example, if equal video panes is the organization default layout, then meetings scheduled using the add-in also have the equal video panes layout
|Pinch to zoom on iOS||
When you are in a video call, you can now pinch to zoom in on content that the far-end is sharing
|Improved battery performance on iOS||
Improvements have been made to the iOS device’s battery usage while in a StarLeaf audio call
|Chat wallpaper on iOS||
A new background wallpaper is available in chat conversations on the iOS app.
To change your wallpaper, go to Account > Chat wallpaper
Bug fixes and improvements effective in StarLeaf Cloud 7.4:
StarLeaf endpoints that are invited to BlueJeans conferences that are created using the BlueJeans Outlook plugin show the green Join control on the touchscreen controller
In the previous release, under rare circumstances, some endpoints experienced unexpected call disconnection. Cloud 7.4 fixes this issue
In previous versions, when using Click-to-call from Internet Explorer or Google Chrome, screen sharing can cause the visual of the call window to duplicate numerous times. Could 7.4 fixes this issue

Improvements to memory management

When a voice or video call ends, or the far-end party declines or does not answer a call, the call window now displays information as to how the call ended. This may be one of the following: Call ended, You left the meeting, Call declined, Busy, or No answer
If you leave or are removed from a private group, you no longer have access to view the group description, list of members, or any chat history

StarLeaf for macOS is now available in Norwegian Bokmål
|StarLeaf on iOS|
When you are in a voice or video call, the call window now shows the type of a call you are currently in. The text displayed beside the call duration is StarLeaf video call, StarLeaf voice call, or StarLeaf video meeting
In previous versions, the text on an in-call navigation bar is not fully displayed while the device is in landscape orientation. Cloud 7.4 fixes this issue
In previous versions, if you search for a user or room (with which you have a chat or call history) in the Search or dial omnisearch, the presence of this user or room is not shown. From Cloud 7.4, the presence is shown
General improvements to the user interface of the in-call view
Updates to the design of tab icons in the app
In previous versions, the Welcome screen overlaps with a tool tip when a user signs into the app for the first time. Cloud 7.4 fixes this issue

In previous releases, if the phone screen turns off while the app is open on a chat conversation and a message is sent from the far-end after the screen turns off, the new message does not appear in the chat when the user wakes the phone. The message only appears after the user exits and reenters the chat. Cloud 7.4 fixes this issue
In previous releases, under certain circumstances, the app does not successfully start a call from the messages tab immediately after camera permissions are asked for and granted. Cloud 7.4 fixes this issue
