Introduction

These release notes provide you with information about the latest upgrade to the StarLeaf Cloud, Portal, and endpoints. This is a feature release and is effective from April 2018.

All upgrades take place outside of normal office hours for all regions. Endpoints automatically restart and reconnect to the Cloud after the upgrade.

StarLeaf operates a system of rolling upgrades across our data centers, which are distributed globally. New features may be enabled separately.

New features

Cloud 7.1 provides the following new features:

GT Mini audio-in

For all new GT Mini 3330 and GT 3351 room systems, HDMI audio-in (via the DVi-I connector) is enabled by default

Click-to-Call user experience

For users making browser-based calls, Cloud 7.1 provides increased resilience to suboptimal network conditions with improvements to the mechanism by which Click-to-Call responds dynamically to fluctuations in bandwidth availability

Portal reseller experience

The Customer page in the Portal is now paginated which will speed up loading time for this page for resellers with many customers
Disable user activation emails When users are added to the Cloud either through the Portal or through an integration such as Okta, the Cloud sends the user an ‘account activation’ email. From Cloud 7.1, you can elect to disable the sending of this email and instead inform your users in whatever way you choose. To disable the sending of activation emails, contact StarLeaf Support
StarLeaf on desktop and mobile
Guest experience Guests who use StarLeaf on the desktop or on mobile will automatically have a chat or call history with the person who invited them

User experience

There are improvements to the ordering of search results within the app

Issues resolved

Bug fixes effective in StarLeaf Cloud 7.1:

15065 In previous versions, under certain circumstances a call into a meeting that was being recorded could fail. Cloud 7.1 fixes this issue
15668 The password reset link in the scheduling add-in for Office365 now behaves as expected. For more information about the add-in, refer to Outlook Add-in for Office 365
15931 Browser client (Click-to-Call) participants who have video muted no longer appear as a black pane in the meeting layout
16183 In the previous version, there could be problems when setting up a meeting using Medley if one of the invite recipients receives email via Sendgrid. Cloud 7.1 fixes this issue. For more information about Medley, refer to Skype meetings connection service
16198 In the previous version, shared content (using Tandberg BFCP) could fail in a call that included a a Pexip device and a SIP endpoint. Cloud 7.1 fixes this issue
16419 In the previous version, under certain circumstances, recordings of meeting could be at lower-than-expected resolution. Cloud 7.1 fixes this issue. For more information about recording meetings, refer to The StarLeaf Encore recording service

12067 In some circumstances, when a Skype for Business client attempts to add video or content into a StarLeaf conference with no other video participants there can be unexpected call failure
