These release notes provide you with information about the latest upgrade to the StarLeaf Cloud, Portal, and endpoints. This is a feature release and is effective from January 2018.
All upgrades take place outside of normal office hours for all regions. Endpoints automatically restart and reconnect to the Cloud after the upgrade.
StarLeaf operates a system of rolling upgrades across our data centers, which are distributed globally. New features may be enabled separately.
Everyone can now download and sign into the new StarLeaf app. (Go to our app download page ).
The StarLeaf app is a simple, secure and reliable app for messaging, meetings and calling. It works from anywhere, on any device, so colleagues can collaborate, share and discuss as easily on the move as at work, and it is completely interoperable with other third party video conferencing systems.
Cloud version 5.3.1 provides the following new features:
|New user interface for GT Mini 3330 and Group Telepresence 3351||
Cloud 5.3.1 introduces some changes to the user interface for the touchscreen controller for GT Mini 3330 and Group Telepresence 3351. The changes center on improving the ease of joining meetings and are based on customer feedback:
From February 14, 2018 onwards, all room systems in new organizations will have the new user interface.
There will be no change to existing endpoints; these will continue to have the original user interface.
Note: If you are an existing customer, please contact StarLeaf Support if you would like to have your room systems use the new user interface.

|Scheduling add-in for MS Outlook Office 365||
An add-in is now available for Microsoft Office 365. This allows Outlook users to schedule a StarLeaf meeting directly from their email client or calendar. The add-in is for Outlook for Windows, macOS and online.

|All new guests will be prompted to download the app||
Cloud 5.3.1 introduces a change to the provisioning of guests with a software client. All guests who have been invited to use StarLeaf will now be prompted to download and sign up for the StarLeaf app rather than Breeze.
Note that where a person’s email domain matches an existing organization AND that organization has not requested to have new users prompted to download the app, that person will be prompted to download Breeze
StarLeaf app calls tab
To improve the user experience, StarLeaf app now has separate Calls and Chats tabs.
Chats shows all 1-to-1 and group chats in order of chatting history. Calls shows all recent calls in order of calling history. Received calls do not affect the order of chats.

|Localization||StarLeaf is now available in Brazilian Portuguese on all devices. For more information about localization and available languages, refer to Localization of StarLeaf endpoints, apps, and Portal|
|StarLeaf for macOS: end call||When using StarLeaf on macOS, you can now end a call using the red ‘x’ in the upper left corner of the call window|
|StarLeaf for iOS: microphone and camera||When using StarLeaf on iOS, you can no longer make or answer a call if you have not given the app permission to use the camera and microphone on the device. Instead, you will be prompted to give the necessary permissions. For information on how to do so, refer to About camera and microphone|
|StarLeaf for Android: speakerphone toggle||
You can now toggle between speakerphone and handset audio on Android. The speakerphone control is in the top right of your calling screen:
Bug fixes effective in StarLeaf Cloud 5.3.1:
|13826||Windows: Under certain circumstances, in the previous version, the app did not show all upcoming meetings. Cloud 5.3.1 fixes this issue|
|14580||Calls to the voicemail system from the StarLeaf app now display as calls to Voicemail, rather than to ‘VVM’ in English. This is a localized term and will appear in the language of the device|
|14782,14784||When sharing your screen from the app and the shared content resolution is greater than 1920×1080, the resolution will be down-scaled such that the receiving device can display the entire shared screen|
|15064||In previous releases, guest users did not have an avatar on their Account page. Cloud 5.3.1 fixes this issue|
|15380||StarLeaf on macOs now correctly displays in Dutch when running on macOs devices with the language set to Dutch|

|Samsung Galaxy Note 8 incorrectly reports that StarLeaf app is accessing the device camera and microphone randomly and in between calls. The StarLeaf app only accesses a device camera and microphone during a call|
|5454||Breeze full screen mode is not supported on Mac OSX versions below 10.7|
|10858||Internet Explorer 11: When you access a user page on the Portal using Internet Explorer 11, the time zone selection box automatically opens|
|11755||There is a BFCP interoperability issue between Cisco VCS and the StarLeaf Cloud which can cause screen share to be disabled mid call|
|12040||Using Click-to-Call in the Safari browser on OSX sometimes results in difficulties receiving shared content and dropped calls when the Safari tab is minimized for longer than 10 seconds. This is due to the AppNap feature on OSX that puts background applications to sleep if they are not in the foreground|
|12067||In some circumstances, when a Skype for Business client attempts to add video or content into a StarLeaf conference with no other video participants there can be unexpected call failure|
|12134||For calls where one participant is using a Polycom Trio, audio and/or video might stop when starting or stopping content share|
