These release notes provide you with information about the latest upgrade to the StarLeaf Cloud, Portal, and endpoints. This is a feature release and is effective from September 2018.
All upgrades take place outside of normal office hours for all regions. Endpoints automatically restart and reconnect to the Cloud after the upgrade.
StarLeaf operates a system of rolling upgrades across our data centers, which are distributed globally. New features may be enabled separately.
Cloud 8.2 provides the following new features:
Chat wallpaper now on Android
A new background wallpaper is available in chat conversations on Android. Cloud 8.1 introduced this feature to Windows, macOS, and iOS.
To change your wallpaper in the app, go to Account > Chat wallpaper
The character limit for sending and receiving messages in the app is now 4,000 characters on Android. In previous releases, this was only 500 characters. Cloud 8.1 introduced this feature to Windows, macOS, and iOS.
General audio improvements on Android
- Many improvements concerning the choosing of the correct and appropriate audio device (for example speakerphone, Bluetooth audio, or other)
- Many improvements concerning the interrupting or otherwise of audio from other phone apps
Bug fixes and improvements effective in StarLeaf Cloud 8.2:
|7962||In previous releases, sharing content from a Polycom RMX could fail under certain circumstances. Cloud 8.2 fixes this issue|
|16782||In previous releases, point-to-point calls between a StarLeaf endpoint and a Skype for Business registered Polycom Trio failed when UDP was blocked. Cloud 8.2 fixes this issue|
|17858||Call Detail Records now correctly show call types REFER and REFERRED in calls to Skype for Business|
|18284||Previously, in a call from a StarLeaf user to a Skype for Business user, if the StarLeaf user dialed the Skype for Business user and included uppercase letters in the dialed URI, subsequent screen share into the call could fail. Cloud 8.2 fixes this issue|
|18614||Click-to-Call (WebRTC) is not supported on Safari from version 11.2 onwards. This is due to changes in Safari that mean the browser no longer supports plugins|
|17893||An interoperability problem between the StarLeaf Medley service and SIP calls is fixed in Cloud 8.2.|

|16411||The app will now always display an appropriate language based on the combined language and region settings in the app. Previously, the app would fall back to displaying in English even though a more appropriate language could be displayed|

|11755||There is a BFCP interoperability issue between Cisco VCS and the StarLeaf Cloud which can cause screen share to be disabled mid call|
|12040||Using Click-to-Call in the Safari browser on OSX sometimes results in difficulties receiving shared content and dropped calls when the Safari tab is minimized for longer than 10 seconds. This is due to the AppNap feature on OSX that puts background applications to sleep if they are not in the foreground|
|12067||In some circumstances, when a Skype for Business client attempts to add video or content into a StarLeaf conference with no other video participants there can be unexpected call failure|
