Cloud 7.0
Managing StarLeaf releases Earlier releases
Last updated March 11, 2020Introduction
These release notes provide you with information about the latest upgrade to the StarLeaf Cloud, Portal, and endpoints. This is a feature release and is effective from April 2018.
All upgrades take place outside of normal office hours for all regions. Endpoints automatically restart and reconnect to the Cloud after the upgrade.
StarLeaf operates a system of rolling upgrades across our data centers, which are distributed globally. New features may be enabled separately.
New features
Cloud 7.0 provides the following new features:
VoiceConnect |
VoiceConnect provides integration with the global telephone network for your organization allowing inbound and outbound calling to, and from, the PSTN. You will use a SIP trunk provider to connect your StarLeaf organization to the PSTN. StarLeaf Cloud supports SIP trunk providers across the globe. The StarLeaf Portal provides pre-configured templates for each supported provider making it simple to configure. For a list of supported providers, refer to Portal configuration for PSTN SIP trunks. Using VoiceConnect, allocate direct-dial numbers to individuals, room systems and/or hunt groups and route outgoing calls to the PSTN SIP trunk of your choice. For more information alongside deployment examples, refer to About PSTN SIP trunks. When you configure PSTN SIP trunk through the Portal, all users in your organization will be able to make PSTN calls from their StarLeaf app. If you have more than one PSTN trunk configured, you can control how a user’s calls are routed by the configuration of your sites and trunks. If you have a PSTN SIP trunk that pre-dates Cloud 7.0, it will not be visible in the Portal. Contact StarLeaf Support to have your PSTN trunk migrated to VoiceConnect and enabled through the Portal. VoiceConnect is an optional extra on your StarLeaf account. |
MSI installer for StarLeaf on Windows | To mass-deploy StarLeaf for Windows to multiple end users, an MSI installer is now available. For more information and to download, refer to Mass-deploying StarLeaf with the MSI installer |
New in-call meeting controls for StarLeaf on Windows and macOS |
Lock meeting: This prevents any more participants from joining this meeting. Those that attempt to do so instead see a splashscreen telling them that the meeting is locked. The lock meeting control is available in scheduled meetings End meeting: This ends the current meeting for you and all other participants in the meeting. When End meeting is selected, a confirmation box appears with the option to either End now or Cancel For more information, refer to In-call conference controls |
