Managing Cloud releasesLast updated March 15, 2019
These release notes provide you with information about the latest upgrade to the StarLeaf Cloud, Portal, and endpoints. This is a feature release and is effective from October 2018.
All upgrades take place outside of normal office hours for all regions. Endpoints automatically restart and reconnect to the Cloud after the upgrade.
StarLeaf operates a system of rolling upgrades across our data centers, which are distributed globally. New features may be enabled separately.
Cloud 8.4 provides the following new features:
|Second incoming call indication||
If you are in a StarLeaf voice or video call and receive a second incoming call, you can now see an indication of the new call on the in-call screen. An incoming call tone is also played.
You have the option to end the ongoing call and answer the new call or decline the new call.
|Join and schedule buttons||There are two buttons on the Meetings tab above the meetings list, join and schedule. Join opens a dialog where you can enter a meeting ID to join a meeting. Schedule takes you to the meetings page on the Portal|
|Localization||StarLeaf is now available in Slovakian. For more information about localization, refer to Localization of StarLeaf endpoints, apps, and Portal|
|Scroll to top||When scrolling through a list in one of the tabs such as Chats, if you select or tap the tab, the list automatically scrolls back to the beginning. This feature is useful if you have scrolled very far down the list and want to go back to the beginning quickly|
|StarLeaf Scheduler for Google Calendar||
StarLeaf Scheduler for Google Calendar is a new integration that allows you to schedule video meetings directly from your Google Calendar. It can be used to invite anyone to a meeting, even if they are not a Google Calendar user.
The StarLeaf Scheduler is available on Google Chrome and you can download it from the Chrome Web Store here .

Bug fixes and improvements effective in StarLeaf Cloud 8.4:
|17962||In previous Cloud versions, the full name of a meeting owner may not display under Answered by / Conference owner in the Call detail records in the Portal. From Cloud 8.4, the full name is displayed|
|18835||Improvements to the video quality when Skype for Business users receive video from StarLeaf users in a meeting|
|19052||In previous Cloud versions, if you attempt to launch the StarLeaf app from a page within Firefox, the app may fail to launch. Cloud 8.4 fixes this issue and the app now successfully launches from Firefox|
|StarLeaf on Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android|
|18442||If you are active on one or more devices and receive a notification, all of your active devices are notified immediately. Notifications are queued for inactive devices and are only sent to these inactive devices if they are still unread after about 2 minutes (previously 20 seconds) on your active devices|
|StarLeaf on Windows|
|18352||Improvements to the user interface when do not disturb is set|
|StarLeaf on macOS|
|18424||If you restart or reopen your app, the app now remembers the last tab you were on and reopens on this. For example, if you closed the app while you were on the Chats tab, the app reopens on the Chats tab|
|18802||You can now use Quick Look on macOS to preview files shared in the app|
|18962||In previous releases, the unread app message count does not show in the Mac dock. Cloud 8.4 fixes this and the unread message count appears in the dock|
|18997||Improvements to the text in the Meetings tab user interface|
|StarLeaf on iOS|
|18482||When joining a meeting that has started or is due to start by selecting the green Join button in the Meetings tab, the app checks camera and microphone permissions to ensure that they are enabled before you can join|
|StarLeaf on Android|

|15882||Improvements to the accuracy of user presence icons when switching between different actions in the app|
|18140||Improvements to make the behavior of adjusting in-call volume on handset and speakerphone consistent|

|Component||Minimum version in Cloud 8.4|
For per-vendor interoperability information, refer here.
|10858||Internet Explorer 11: When you access a user page on the Portal using Internet Explorer 11, the time zone selection box automatically opens|
|11755||There is a BFCP interoperability issue between Cisco VCS and the StarLeaf Cloud which can cause screen share to be disabled mid call|
Using Click-to-Call (WebRTC) in the Safari browser on OSX sometimes results in difficulties receiving shared content and dropped calls when the Safari tab is minimized for longer than 10 seconds. This is due to the AppNap feature on OSX that puts background applications to sleep if they are not in the foreground
Click-to-Call is not supported on Safari from version 11.2 onwards. This is due to changes in Safari that mean the browser no longer supports plugins. For more information on browser support and compatibility, refer to Click-to-Call and StarLeaf Cloud
|12067||In some circumstances, when a Skype for Business client attempts to add video or content into a StarLeaf conference with no other video participants there can be unexpected call failure|
|19234||When you read or reply to a message on the StarLeaf app for macOS, the client does not always update that message to ‘read’ and the unread message count in the Chats list persists. Restarting the app marks the message as read and updates the unread message count. This issue is in the process of being fixed|
