Depending on your StarLeaf organization settings, you can configure advanced room settings on your Admin Portal > Room systems > Edit room system.

In this topic:

Meeting room settings

Open the Meeting room drop down menu, then Advanced settings:

Enable Smart Layouts

Choose whether you want the room system to have Smart Layouts.

Enabling Smart Layouts will cause the video panes of participants to not shuffle when someone leaves or joins a meeting.

Camera keep awake while local content is shown

Choose whether you want to keep the room system’s camera active when you are sharing content outside of a StarLeaf meeting.

This is useful if you are using your laptop to join a third-party meeting, but want to share content to the room’s screen, and use its camera for the meeting.

Admins must first contact StarLeaf Support to enable this setting for their organization.

Hardware endpoint settings

Open the Hardware endpoint dropdown menu, then Advanced settings:

Auto-answer mode

You only see the Auto-answer mode option if your organization has specifically requested it:

  • Disabled: Incoming calls are not automatically answered
  • Enabled: Incoming calls are automatically answered with no user intervention. StarLeaf recommends that you do not use this option unless you have particular cause to do so
  • Enabled – microphones muted: Incoming calls are automatically answered with no user intervention. In this case, the microphones are muted. StarLeaf recommends that you do not use this option unless you have particular cause to do so

API mode

If you have purchased the Endpoint Control API option from StarLeaf, you can enable the API on each room system. Select whether to use the API over the serial connection or IP connection. For more information, refer to Introduction to the Cloud Endpoint Control API.

Max send and receive rates

You can set the maximum send and receive bit rates for each room system. This controls the bandwidth usage.

Audio and video settings

There are additional audio and video settings that you can configure under the Audio and video settings drop down:

Video settings

There are additional video settings under Features:

  • Video output mode: Choose whether you want the room system to have a single or dual screen setup
  • Enable HDMI output sleep: If the monitor or TV that you are using for the room system uses DPMS signalling to enter its low power mode, you can tick this box to make the room system more compatible with the monitor. The sleep time is still dependent on the room system.
  • Enable CEC: If the TV that you are using for the room system uses CEC signalling to enter its low power mode, you can tick this box to make the room system more compatible with the TV. The sleep time is still dependent on the room system.
  • Allow dual-screen: This is ticked depending on your organization’s meeting room subscription
  • Allow extended camera: This is ticked depending on your organization’s meeting room subscription
